Known Google Workspace Limitations

Review authorization, administrator privileges, and API access when a Google Workspace connection or action does not work as expected.

Use the Google Workspace connection guide to set up the integration. Use this page to understand known authorization and API constraints when troubleshooting.

Connecting Does Not Complete Authorization

Entering your Customer ID and selecting Connect in WorkMind does not replace Google’s domain-wide delegation approval. Complete the authorization in Google Admin and verify the required scopes before expecting UMA to manage users or groups.

A Second Approval May Be Required

If your Google Workspace organization has multi-party approval enabled, another super administrator must approve the domain-wide delegation request. The first administrator’s submission alone is not enough. Complete your organization’s approval process before testing the connection.

Authorization Changes Can Take Time

Google says domain-wide delegation changes can take up to 24 hours, although they usually apply sooner. A connection check or action can fail while a change is still taking effect. Confirm authorization and any required approvals, check the client ID and scopes, and allow time for changes to apply before testing again.

Scopes and Administrator Privileges

The approved scopes and the Google privileges of the administrator UMA acts as both affect which operations can succeed. A connection can be configured while a specific action still lacks authorization.

Check the scopes supplied by WorkMind and the required Google administrator privileges when troubleshooting an unavailable action. WorkMind account roles do not grant Google administrator privileges.

Individual Sign-In Is Not a Replacement

The current integration requires domain-wide delegation for your Google Workspace organization. If your organization’s policies do not allow it, this connection method cannot operate. Signing in with a personal Gmail account or approving an ordinary individual Google consent screen is not an alternative setup path.

Revoking Authorization Stops Access

Deleting the WorkMind client from Google’s domain-wide delegation settings stops access through that authorization. Removing required scopes or reducing the designated administrator’s Google privileges can also cause previously working actions to fail. Review these settings if the integration stops working after an access change.
